Released in America for both the Nintendo GameCube and Microsoft Xbox, Lotus Challenge was also developed for the PlayStation 2 but never released outside of Japan or Europe. Interestingly enough, the PS2 version of the game actually added a number of significant enhancements over the other editions; including an improved control schematic, better opponent AI, and smarter camera positioning. Of course, these features come extra -- as the game already boasts a car selection comprised of almost every Lotus vehicle ever built, extensive damage modeling, and five different modes of play. Unlike the Xbox game, the PS2 version doesn't use the "Motor Trend" license.
